PERSONAL TASKS:
1: Make your bed every morning.
Yes, you hear this everywhere. But I can’t stress how important this is! Not only does it give you a fresh start to the day and smooth sheets to enjoy at night, but I tried it for a little bit and I quickly learned how nice it is. Now, I don’t leave my room in the morning until my bed is made!
2: Get ready in the morning.
Instead of lying around in pajamas with your hair a mess, get up and get ready. Even if you’re sure you won’t be going anywhere, do it anyway. You don’t have to be ready enough for a photoshoot, but make it a goal to be ready enough that it will take five minutes or less to get out the door. This helps you get into the mindset of being less lazy and more productive, and besides, you wouldn’t be embarrassed to answer the door or take a video call!
3: Organize your closet hangars.
No, I’m not saying to color-code your closet or to keep things in size order. I’m not even telling you to put it in sections! (Though I do, and it’s wonderful!) Instead, organize your hangars. Just make sure they all face the same way. The proper way is to have the top part facing to the left when you hold up the article of clothing with the tag in the back. This saves frustration as well as the need to buy more hangars!
4: Get your clothes/accessories out at night.
A huge timesaver for each day is to decide on your outfit the night before Check your calendar and plan accordingly. Though there mat be times you can’t do it, that’s very rare. When you set your clothes out, setyou’re your accessories as well, such as hair bands, scarves, and jewelry. It will save you many minutes on any busy – or non-busy – morning!
5: Take 10 minutes at night to record your thoughts.
Whether you write in a journal or planner or not, taking ten minutes before bed to write down random thoughts is a great idea. Often, great ideas come at night, then vanish in the morning and frustrate us greatly with their elusiveness. Keep a notebook by your bed – don’t use your phone, because that can damage your brain before you go to bed – and write a line about the day and some other thoughts. Now you’ll never forget yoru brilliant nighttime ideas!
FAMILY TASKS:
1: Load the dishwasher throughout the day.
Don’t wait until the end of the day to load the dishwasher! When you do, it becomes a chore that gets old fast. Instead, load it as the day goes by. If you can get your family on board, that helps too. Instead of placing their plates in the sink, each of them can put their own items in the dishwasher, saving time and taking only seconds out of their day.
2: Keep remotes in a basket.
If you have a television, then you have a remote, unless you have a very old one. Often, you may have several remotes, and they quickly get lost. If that happens to your family, find a small basket or bag to store the remotes in, and ensure everyone knows about it. If everyone remembers, you’ll never lose the remotes again!
3: Freeze cookie dough balls.
For a quick and easy dessert, freeze small balls of cookie dough. Not only is this great for your family, but it’s perfect for last minute guests. Just make dough and form into balls, freeze on a cookie sheet, and place in a ziplock bag. (And yes, the cookie dough is delicious while frozen, too!)
4: Empty the sink at night.
Whether you have a dishwasher or not, there are always things that don’t fit and must be washed by hand No matter how tired you are the night before, it’s almost always worth it to have an empty sink in the morning. It starts your day out fresh and new, with nothing hanging over your head as soon as you get up. A quick swipe clean of your sink helps too, but having all your dishes put away for the morning makes for a much easier morning.
5: Take out the trash at night.
Taking out the trash at night helps keep bad smells and insects out of the kitchen. It keeps everything cleaner and fresher when you use this simple time.
That’s all I have for today, and I hope at least one of the tips were helpful to you! Let me know if you enjoyed this post, and I’d love to hear if you implement any of these tips and tricks!
