Ann:
My recommendation this month is to check out the recipe website Sally’s Baking Addiction. This website is an amazing resource for all things baking, and she holds a baking challenge each month to encourage you to try something interesting and new! My family has enjoyed many of her delicious recipes, and we have many more that we want to try. Here are the links to a bunch of our favorites! (In no particular order.)
Seriously Soft Molasses Cookies
Lemon Bars with Shortbread Crust
Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwiches
A few of our favorites have been her pepperoni pizza rolls, lemon pie, chocolate ginger cookies, french macarons, and chocolate truffles!
Emilie:
My recommendation for this month, though rather simple, is to decorate a cookie. Sugar cookies are a holiday treat, and the decorating is often an activity leading up to Christmas. Not often is cookie decorating continued after december, just like cookie exchanges. However, January seems to be a lot less sweet than December, doesn’t it? People bake so much leading up to the holiday, and once the New Year arrives, we often go into a dull rhythm. Spice up your month with a warm (or cold) sugar cookie with some icing! It could be store bought, homemade, gluten free or not! You don’t even have to eat it. But decorating something like cookies is so calming and fun. That’s my recommendation!
