Practical Post: How to Make Homemade Stickers (Guest Post by Ann's sister)

Hello again! I’m Ann’s younger sister! Last time I was here, I talked about drinks. (Note: this was in our September 2024 newsletter- here’s a link to that.) If you made any of them, I hope you liked it!

But today I’m talking about making stickers!

All you will need is parchment paper, packing tape, markers or pencils, paper, and scissors.

To begin, all you have to do is draw your sticker idea and color it, or leave it black and white.

When finished, cut it out, leaving a white outline. Make sure the outline is as even as you can make it.

Now cut a sheet of parchment paper a little bigger than the drawing. Lay the parchment paper down flat and put packing tape on it, making sure each line overlaps. (Tip: it helps if the tape is vertical, not horizontal. If it’s horizontal, the sticker may come apart when you try to use it.) Yes, you’re sticking tape onto parchment paper. Don’t worry, it will make sense soon.

After that, place your drawing face-up on top of the tape. If you have more than one drawing, don’t let them touch. Tape the drawing onto the sheet of parchment and tape, making sure there’s no bubbles. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Putting down the tape can be very hard.

Then cut them out, leaving an outline around the drawing as you cut.

Now you can stick it anywhere! When you’re ready to use the sticker, just peel off the parchment paper on the bottom.

I hope this makes sense! Feel free to contact Ann if you need help. Bye friends!

  1. Love this idea! That’s so fun! It reminds me of making greeting cards with printed disposable napkins. Have you tried that? You can use plastic wrap to do iron transfers.
