One Year Blogversary!

One year blogging!* It does not seem that long since Grace and I started up Where Brook and River Meet. Since then, so much has happened that it almost seems unreal.

Starting the blog was a whirlwind project. Within two months of officially considering the idea of a blog, we published our first article. We were eager to begin, and very anxious to see how things would go! Could we keep up with two posts a week? Would anyone like what we posted? Would anyone even read our articles?

Since that first day, we have acquired many more views than we would have imagined. We have posted 130 posts, including this one. We have gained an author and adjusted many aspects of the original blog, until we have become the blog we are today.

It was hard to imagine this day a year ago. Celebrating our anniversary, collaborating with other young women, starting up an email list. It’s easy to see that it’s been a highly fruitful year, at least in technical terms.

But what is our goal in all this?

If one girl has been encouraged and strengthened by our blog, we have succeeded. If one young woman has found our blog a safe, enjoyable place to linger, we have fulfilled a long-hoped-for aim. Most importantly, if God is glorified by this humble place, we have done well. As authors, that can be difficult to remember in the whirl of excitement and blog productivity. But we must keep that in mind. In the end, this is not for us, or even for our readers, but for Him.

As we hold fast to that, the practical question still presents itself: what’s next for Where Brook and River Meet?

For now, we’re starting up our email list and continuing our regular posts. Changes may be on the horizon, but for now, the three of us will continue posting as usual and enjoying our season here. We look forward to the times ahead, and pray we can continue blessing you as the months go by. Thank you for reading our blog!

                                                             Blessings,

Ann, head author at Where Brook and River Meet.

*Yes, our first posts went out in May, but we consider June our starting date. That is the day we posted our first article, which we acknowledge as our first real post. :)
