Who doesn’t love a warm drink on a cold – or even hot – day? Tea is good, yes. But sometimes you want something a little more, and may not feel like making a pot of hot chocolate on the stove. Those packets from the store may be convenient, but they are not very good and taste kind of like plastic. Here’s an easy recipe for a powdered mix that you can make once and then scoop out and go!

Servings: It depends!                            Cuisine: ?

Total time: 5 minutes.

Ingredients:

2 cups of powdered milk

1 & ½ cups of granulated sugar

¾ of a cup of coffee creamer

¾ of a cup of cocoa powder

½ teaspoon of salt

Directions:

Add all ingredients into a bowl. Stir, making sure the bottom is scraped well to fully combine. Put in an airtight container- we use a mason jar. Make sure to shake the container as you pour so that it will settle, or you’ll have extra left over like I did! (Well, we also had a little left from a previous time, so that’s why there’s so much in the second jar. If you make one recipe and shake it as you pour it in, it should come right up to the top of the jar!)

When you are ready to have some, boil water. Add a small amount to your mug along with the amount of hot chocolate mix desired. Whisk with a fork to make sure there are no lumps, then fill mug. Add toppings. Drink and feel happy! :)

Amount per 8-10 ounces (a typical mug size) of water:

¼ cup for mildly chocolate

1/3 cup for moderate chocolate

½ cup for rich chocolate (Yes, this one is me!)
