We’re so grateful to be able to celebrate this day! Today marks the second year anniversary of Where Brook and River Meet.* At times, it seems the blog has just begun, and at other times, it seems it has been a part of our lives for a long time. Though this year has held less changes than our first, the blog has still changed greatly since our one-year blogversary.

To celebrate, we are excited to announce that we are hosting a giveaway! We have partnered with a young woman named Kathryn Turley, and will be giving away a necklace and earring set. To sign up for the giveaway, please take this survey. We’re excited to receive your answers and partner with Kathryn! (Note: the survey form will close at 6PM EST on Thursday, July 12th, and the winner will be announced in the email list the following morning.)

As well, we want to thank all of our readers for making this blog and giveaway possible. Not only do we consistently have people reading our posts, but we have over 50 people on our email list! This list was originally created for our one-year anniversary, and it’s amazing to see how many young women have read and supported our work. We pray that we have blessed and encouraged you during the time you’ve been with us.

Most of all, we are grateful to the Lord for giving us the privilege and responsibility of writing for you all. As we said last year, if one girl is encouraged and strengthened by this blog; if one young woman has found our blog a safe and enjoyable place to linger, we have fulfilled our purpose. Yet above all, our greatest desire is to glorify God in everything we do here. It is not to gratify ourselves, to fulfill reader expectations, or to please others. It is to exalt the Lord.

What are our plans for the coming year? We are still prayerfully considering that. There are ideas we are working on, which you may hear about soon. As we step into the third year of Where Brook and River Meet, we will keep this Bible verse in mind:

“The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 19:21)

*As mentioned before, while our first posts did go out in May, we consider June to be our starting date. June 5th is the day we posted our first article, which we acknowledge as our first real post.
